Virginia Traller West and Joe B West

united in marriage for 64 years, have passed away within the same week: joe, 87, on April 3, and Virginia, 85, on April 7. After living in Long Beach and Whittier, in 1969 they settled in Huntington Harbour, where they enjoyed years rich in friendships and activities. Virginia was part of the documents library staff at Cal State Fullerton until her retirement. Joe had a successful career in industrial sales. Family and friends describe their “epic love”, which began during the wartime years. Son Scott West and daughter Cathy Weaver are grateful for loving, supportive parents who filled their lives with laughter, singing, and family vacations centered around boating and camping. Five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews have been blessed by their unwavering love and guidance. Joe is survived by three brothers: Tom West, Bill West, and Jim West. Virginia was preceded in death by her two sisters: Nita Mclvain and Jayne Midgley. Theirs was a life of deep faith, reflected in a genuine love for others. Together now in eternal life, their legacy will continue for generations to come. They will be celebrated in a joint service at St. Peter’s By-The-Sea Presbyterian Church, Huntington Beach, Sunday, May 20 at 4:00 pm.
