Behind a dominant pitching performance by Sean Burleson, Ocean View High was able to overcome windy conditions and handle the Saddleback Roadrunners, 15-0, in a Golden West League baseball game.

Burleson pitched a complete game, striking out 10 while allowing just two hits as the Seahawks improved to 7-1 in league and 12-7-1 overall.

The game was called after six innings and included several breaks in play due to extremely windy conditions.

Like Burleson, the Ocean View offense also was impressive. The Seahawks took a 1-0 first-inning lead, scored three more runs in the second and then added five more in the third inning, capped by a bases-loaded triple by senior Chris Katsuki.

Katsuki finished three for four with a double and five RBI. Mike Fuentes went two for three with three RBI, and James Miller also was two for three with a double and RBI.

“I was happy with the way we focused,” Ocean View Coach Shane Borowski said. “Any time there are extremes in the weather, anything can happen. Fortunately for us, we showed up with our ‘A’ game and never looked back.”

Marina led from start to finish Monday in disposing of Fountain Valley, 6-1, in Sunset League play. Sophomore Paul Strong got the win.

Edison completed a three-game sweep of Esperanza in Sunset League play by posting a 9-2 victory Saturday. Kyle Higashioka hit a home run and double, and Ryan Sheeks, Brent Meschuk and Michael Kuehn all doubled.

Sophomore right-hander Kurt Heyer gave up four hits in a complete-game victory as the Chargers maintained first-place.

Huntington Beach scored all of its runs over the final three innings to rally for an 8-5 win over host Trabuco Hills in Sea View League action. Junior Calvin Drummond got the win, and junior Derek Neugebauer the save for the Oilers.
