Orange Coast League finalsCHINO — Estancia High sophomore Ryan Knapp finished second with a eight-over-par 148, just two shots off the lead at El Prado Golf Course Tuesday.
Because he was in the top three, Knapp, who shot seven-over 77 on Tuesday, advanced to the CIF Southern Individual Championship to be played at SeaCliff Country Club on May 19. Knapp shot one-over 71 on Monday at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course.
Laguna Beach’s Brett McGaughey shot 146 (70-76) to win the OCL individual title.
Los Alamitos 194,NEWPORT BEACH — Andrew Skjonsby shot a team best two-over-par 38, which was third overall for the Sailors in the Sunset League match at Big Canyon Country Club Tuesday.
Newport Harbor 206
Bryce Greeley (40), Michael Clark (42), Chase Behr (42) and Steve Stoneman (44) also scored for Harbor (12-9, 5-5 in league), which will compete in the Sunset League individuals today at 12:30 p.m. at Los Serranos Golf Course. The scores for the Sailors will also factor into a team dual against Marina for the league’s final spot to advance to the CIF Central Team Divisional on Monday at Lakewood Golf Course.
BASEBALL
Corona del Mar 10, University 3IRVINE — Jake Lemmerman had his second straight two home-run game to help lead the Sea Kings to a Pacific Coast League victory Tuesday.
Lemmerman was three for four with four RBIs and two runs scored. Danny Moskovits was three for four with three RBIs, while Austin Elliott was also three for four for Corona del Mar (16-6, 8-3 in league), which plays against Cerritos in a nonleague doubleheader today at 3 p.m. at TeWinkle Park.
The Sea Kings play host to University Friday at 3:15 p.m. CdM needs to win to clinch at least a share of the PCL title.

Sage Hill 7, St. Margaret’s 3SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Travis Duncan pitched a complete game and also went two for four with two RBIs to lead the Lightning to a key Academy League win Tuesday.
Tom Multari blasted a two-run home run in the third inning for Sage Hill (8-9, 6-5 in league), which now needs to win on Friday at home against St. Margaret’s to grab the league’s third and final spot to advance to the CIF Southern Section Division V playoffs.
Duncan, who struck out four, scattered five hits. St. Margaret’s dropped to 6-5 in league.

Orange Coast League finalsLAGUNA BEACH — Estancia High singles players Bradley Fisher, Ely Zaidler and Danny O’Neil, the top three seeds in the tournament, all advanced to today’s semifinals at Laguna Beach High with quarterfinal wins Tuesday.
Fisher beat Elliott Sneen of Costa Mesa in the quarterfinals, 6-1, 6-2, and will face Alex Grosek of Calvary Chapel in today’s semifinal. In the other semifinal, Zaidler and O’Neil will face each other. Zaidler advanced with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 victory over Victor Tran of Costa Mesa, while O’Neil beat Ben Biscarrat of Laguna Beach, 6-4, 6-2.
Estancia’s doubles team of Nick Oliver and Chris Koreerat also advanced to the doubles semifinals after a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Vao Biscarrat and Bryant Schulman of Laguna Beach. Oliver and Koreerat also beat Calvary Chapel’s Clay Skistimas and Trevor Dalbey in a first-round pro-set match, 8-6.
SOFTBALL
Capistrano Valley Christian 5, Sage Hill 3SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Sadie Hoeschen hit an RBI triple in the fifth inning for the Lightning in the Academy League game Tuesday.
Morgan Hembarsky also had a hit and an RBI for Sage Hill (5-10, 3-3 in league), which plays at Oxford Academy on Friday.

Sage Hill def. St. Margaret’sSAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Bayle Smith had a team-high 25 kills for the Lightning, which solidified second place in the Academy League with a 25-23, 18-25, 25-19, 25-19 win at rival St. Margaret’s on Tuesday.
Joey Booth had 10 kills, Michael Bear added 36 assists and libero Mattias Russo-Larsson had 12 digs for Sage Hill (11-7, 7-2 in league), ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division V. Harlan Webster added three service aces and two blocks.
Newport Harbor def. MarinaNEWPORT BEACH — On senior night, senior Weston Dunlap had a team-high 11 kills in the Sailors’ 25-18, 25-14, 25-15 Sunset League sweep.
Kyle Caldwell had seven kills, three service aces and 26 assists for Newport Harbor (18-11, 6-3). Tucker Peleuses also had seven kills and three aces for the Tars, and Mark Liebermann had three kills.
Newport Harbor is at Los Alamitos on Thursday in its Sunset League finale, and with a win the Sailors can tie for second place in league.
Corona del Mar def. UniversityCORONA DEL MAR — Gus Ellis recorded 13 kills and five blocks to help the Sea Kings wrap up an undefeated season in the Pacific Coast League with a 25-12, 25-14, 25-11 victory Tuesday.
Dylan Davis added six kills and five blocks for Corona del Mar (27-2, 8-0 in league), ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division II. Spencer Brown contributed five kills and eight digs, while Phil Bannan had 20 assists for the Sea Kings, who were without Blaine Nielsen (foot). Jeff Carlson, who was nursing an injured shoulder, played at libero instead of outside hitter.
CdM Coach Steve Conti said Nielsen is questionable for Friday’s match against Back Bay rival Newport Harbor at Corona del Mar.
SWIMMING
Academy League preliminariesCERRITOS — Sarah Wesley qualified first in the 100-yard freestyle in 58.72 seconds to lead six Sage Hill School girls who advanced to Thursday’s final at Cerritos Aquatic Center.
Wesley is also seeded fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.54. The Lightning also included: Dylan Conroy (second, 200 free, 2:15.03 and fourth, 100 free, 1:01.75); Nancy Benner (second, 200 free, 2:25.33 and fourth, 500 free, 6:31.30); Jordan Smith-Newman (sixth, 200 individual medley, 2:43.34 and fourth, 100 backstroke, 1:12.46); Cameron Cline (seventh, 50 free, 28.4 and sixth in 100 butterfly, 1:12.41) and Kelly Carpenter (fifth, 500 free, 6:39.59).
Andrew Dorne, Nick Wan and Ryan Barth qualified second in their respective events, leading 14 Sage boys. Dorne is seeded second in the 200 IM (2:08.38) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:05.06), while Wan is second in the 100 back (58.94) and Barth is second in the 100 breast (1:08.97).
