Costa Mesa Police have arrested a Riverside man suspected in a rash of recent OxyContin thefts from drugstores, including two on Harbor Boulevard.

Cody Kevin Dunn, 22, was arrested Thursday afternoon without incident by Costa Mesa detectives as he walked to his car from his apartment on Pierce Street in Riverside.

Detectives identified Dunn through surveillance video and physical evidence obtained at the scene of the Rite Aid pharmacy robbery at 3029 Harbor Blvd. in April, Sgt. Frank Rudisill said.

Dunn was arrested by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department last month for the attempted robbery of a Riverside Rite Aid, but was released after posting bail.

Dunn is being held on $100,000 at Orange County Jail, where he was taken after complaining of not feeling well, Rudisill said.

Costa Mesa detectives are working closely with law enforcement agencies in Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties to determine if Dunn was responsible for similar robberies committed there, Rudisill said, and due to the nature of the ongoing investigation, no pictures of Dunn are being released at this time.
