Eugene C. Reece, Jr.,

, age 87, of Costa Mesa, died Saturday,

May 5, 2007 at home. He served

over 20 years with the U.S.

Navy as a Naval Aviator, ground

school instructor, and Reserve

Officer, retiring as Lieutenant

Commander. He graduated from

N.C. State University with

degrees in Mechanical and

Aeronautical Engineering.

Gene retired after 30 years

as a project engineer with Boeing.

In retirement, he was appreciated

as CEO of his “Jacaranda

Garage”, where he delighted in tinkering,

repairing, pampering his ’77 Olds,

assisting neighbors, or just

covering the front desk, reading the news.

Survivors include a daughter, Claren

Alexander; a son, James Eugene Reece;

two grandchildren, several great-grand-

children; four nieces and their families.
