Actress Hayden Panettiere won an award at the festival for her role in this romantic comedy/drama from former Newport Beach residents Kip and Kern Konwiser.

Future films — running select Thursdays through Aug. 23 — include “Alice Neel,” “Chasing the Lotus,” “Art in the Face of War” and “Shanghai Red.”
