Laguna Beach Police are looking for two women suspected of attempting to cash a forged check with a stolen driver’s license, Sgt. Darin Lenyi said.

A photograph of the two from bank surveillance video has been released.

The suspect and an accomplice entered a Bank of America branch on Feb. 10, and one presented a check for $200 to a teller, along with a driver’s license for identification.

The teller discovered that a fraud alert had been placed on the account and notified police. The teller did not return the check or driver’s license to the suspect.

The suspect demanded the driver’s license be given back and threatened to jump over the counter to retrieve it, but then fled without obtaining it. It was later learned that the license had been stolen in the Los Angeles area.

The suspect and accomplice were seen leaving in a Silver Infiniti SUV.
