Embry-Riddle 5, Vanguard 1MOBILE, Ala. — The No.6-seeded Lions fell in the quarterfinals of the NAIA Men’s Tennis Championship against No.-3 seeded Embry-Riddle (Fla.), ending the Lions’ season at the Mobile Tennis Center.
Senior Vasileios Psyrras got the lone win for Vanguard (19-8). His match against Tomoaki Yasuda was at 7-5, 4-6, 5-6 when Yasuda defaulted.
Three other singles matches did not finish once Embry-Riddle had clinched the match. Vanguard and the Eagles had to deal with a pair of rain delays. Rain forced the tournament to move from the Mobile Tennis Center to indoors at the Mobile Convention Center.
The Eagles (18-1) will face No. 2 Azusa Pacific in the semifinals.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
Lindsey Wilson 5, Vanguard 2MOBILE, Ala. — The Lions, the No. 5 seed, were eliminated from the NAIA Championship after their loss in the quarterfinal to the fourth-seeded Blue Raiders.
Vanguard ended its season at 19-4.
Lindsey Wilson (19-4) of Kentucky won two of the three points in doubles and closed out the match winning three of four singles points en route to the 5-2 win. The remainder of the matches were stopped after Lindsey Wilson reached the five-point total.
Complete results of the match were not available.
The Blue Raiders will face top-seeded and national champion Auburn University-Montgomery (27-1) in the semifinals.
