Two Newport Beach residents were honored by the Orange County Boy Scouts as role models who demonstrate the tenets of scouting. Newport Beach Mayor Steve Rosansky and retired real estate developer Jeff Elghanayan were named men of character at an event last week at the Disneyland Hotel.

Elghanayan has donated money to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County Foundation, served on the several of the hospital’s various boards, and helped the hospital develop a mobile medical clinic that visits Orange County schools.

Rosansky works as an attorney, real estate broker and restaurateur and serves on the Newport Beach City Council. He has served as a scout master for more than 11 years and earlier this month gave his troop a political lesson at the Lincoln Club.
