Jake Lemmerman’s high school baseball career isn’t quite over.

“One more chance,” said Lemmerman, the Pacific Coast League Co-MVP.

Make that two more opportunities to represent Corona del Mar High on the field.

The Duke-bound senior shortstop joins teammate and Orange Coast College-bound senior outfielder Austin Elliott as the lone Newport-Mesa baseball players selected to the Orange County All-Star game organized by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim.

Lemmerman and Elliott are on the South team, which plays the North side Tuesday at Glover Stadium in Anaheim at 6:45 p.m.

On Saturday, Lemmerman (.425, 10 home runs, 37 RBIs), along with Elliott (.443, 33 RBIs, four homers) and CdM pitcher Vinnie St. John (3-4, 3.98 earned-run average), catcher Michael DiRocco (.308, 18 RBIs), and infielders Chris Rosen (.342, 14 RBIs), Michael Ford (.339) and Greg Garte (three doubles) will play in the Ryan Lemmon Senior Showcase.

Corona del Mar’s players are on the team representing the Pacific Coast League, the league the Sea Kings finished second in during the season, behind Laguna Hills.

The Sea Kings reached the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs.

The PCL will compete against the Sea View League’s finest seniors at 4:45 p.m. on Ryan Lemmon Stadium in Irvine’s Windrow Park.

Newport Harbor seniors Brett Houten and PJ Errington will also be part of the Ryan Lemmon Senior Showcase, which is in its 11th year. Houten (.394, 19 RBIs, three homers), a second baseman, and Errington (nine RBIs, four doubles), a third baseman, are on the Sunset League team, which plays the Trinity League team Friday at 7 p.m., 15 minutes after the home run contest.

There will be three senior showcase games during the two-day event named after Ryan Lemmon, a former four-year Woodbridge player who died in an automobile accident after his first year at Pepperdine.

“It’s an honor for these guys to play in both showcase games,” Corona del Mar Coach John Emme said. “I’m just going to go watch these guys play.”

Emme will help coach the PCL, and also see Lemmerman compete in Saturday’s home run contest at 3:45 p.m.

There will also be a sophomore showcase for the first time. Corona del Mar’s Danny Moskovits, Michael Bloom, Matt Morris, and Newport Harbor’s Alex Rios will participate. Two games are scheduled, along with 60-yard dashes, arm strength testing, fielding and hitting for area scouts.
