BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

Athletes from Newport Harbor and Corona del Mar will continue to compete in track and field meets in the coming weeks.

Laura Clayton and Jessica Robson of Newport Harbor will compete at the Nike Outdoor Nationals at N.C. A&T; University in Greensboro, June 14-16. Robson will compete in the high jump, and Clayton will compete in the triple jump.

Allison Stokke will vault in the U.S. Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis June 20-24. She may participate in the Nike Outdoor Meet, but Coach Eric Tweit said she is nursing a minor leg injury and may choose not to go.

Three athletes from Corona del Mar will compete in the Golden West Meet in Sacramento Sunday at Folsom High: Blaine Bolus in the triple jump, Tina Theriot in the 800 meters, and Thomas Dialynas in the 3200 meters.

Sarah Cummings, Hilary May, Shelby Buckley, and Allison Damon will compete at the Nike Outdoor Nationals, where they will attempt to break the national record (19 minutes, 56 seconds) for the 4x1,600 relay.

Several athletes, yet to be determined, will also compete in the distance medley, and Cummings is running in the 3,200, as well.
