Car wash Sunday to benefit Marines

With fewer than two months remaining on the Arches lease, owner Dan Marcheano has planned a “raucous” Sunday afternoon of soap suds and pulled pork sandwiches as the restaurant hosts its third-annual car wash benefiting the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion.

About 35 Marines from the Pendleton-based battalion are coming to Newport Beach to take on the car-washing duties. In addition to receiving a car wash, attendees will be offered hamburgers, hot dogs, Caesar salads, pulled pork, Italian sausage sandwiches as well as bagpipe music.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
