FOR THE RECORD:

A story in Monday’s paper, “Me-N-Ed’s to change name but keep similar menu,” incorrectly reported the restaurant’s new name and that Bill Park is the owner. Park manages the restaurant and the owners are Park’s parents-in-law, Chong and Jung Kim. The restaurant’s new name will be South Coast Pizza Parlors.

Me-N-Eds Pizza Parlor is no longer, but never fret pizza lovers, it will be gone in name only.

Within the next week, the pizza parlor’s iconic neon sign, which hasn’t worked for a number of years, will be taken down to make way for the new sign with the restaurant’s new name — South Coast Pizza.

Owner Bill Park said after not being able to come to an undisclosed agreement with the franchiser, he decided to break away and go it alone.

But the menu won’t change much; in fact, Park said he may add items to it.

“We’re slowly making changes and making them as subtly as possible,” Park said recently.

He said the dining experience will be the same for his loyal clientele and the eatery, at 410 E. 17th St. in Costa Mesa, will still offer delivery of piping-hot pies.
