CdM’s Lemmerman and Elliott earn honors

Corona del Mar High senior shortstop Jake Lemmerman, the Newport-Mesa Player of the Year, was named to the All-Amateur Athletic Foundation Division III baseball first team, which is selected by CIF Southern Section coaches.

Corona del Mar senior outfielder Austin Elliott, who earned his second straight first-team All-Pacific Coast League honor, was named to the All-AAF Division III baseball second team.

Lemmerman, the Co-Pacific Coast League Player of the Year, posted a 425 batting average, with 10 home runs, 31 RBIs, six doubles, a .862 slugging percentage and a .524 on-base percentage.

Lemmerman finished second in all-time hits with 125, seven behind Ty Harper, who also holds the single-season home run record (12) with Eric Wiethorn.

Lemmerman is also second all-time in RBIs (88) and at-bats (125), first in runs (93), fourth in home runs (16), sixth in average (.388) and eighth in doubles (18).

Elliott, who was selected on this year’s Daily Pilot Dream Team, led Corona del Mar with his .443 batting average, 33 RBIs, eight doubles and three triples.

Elliott’s four home runs and .739 slugging percentage were second on the team.

The Sea Kings went 19-9 overall and 8-4 in the Pacific Coast League, and made the Division III playoffs.
