Edwards to show ‘Jurassic Park’ on new screen

A special screening of Jurassic proportions will take place this Thursday as part of the Edwards Big Newport Theater grand reopening.

In celebration of the theater’s recently installed colossal screen, touted as the biggest in Orange County, and an upgraded 35,000-watt sound system, a showing of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 sci-fi terror classic “Jurassic Park” will take place at 7 p.m.

The new screen is a few feet larger than their existing 40-by-80-foot screen.

Admission is $10, with proceeds benefiting the Newport Beach Film Festival and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a breast cancer foundation.
