Newport Beach police have received a third report of a man suspected of annoying children recently in the Harbor View neighborhood. Authorities suspect the same man is responsible for prowling the area.

The most recently reported incident occurred on June 20 in the 1700 block of Port Charles Place when the man approached a 5-year-old boy in his front yard, police said. The man reportedly began talking with the boy about his dog until the boy’s aunt called to him. The man then walked away and got into a white pickup truck, police said.

Police first received reports of the man on June 19, when a 7-year-old girl was walking on Port Sheffield Place. A man in a white pickup with a utility rack drove up and called out to her, and she ran away, police said. The second reported incident occurred on June 21 as a 10-year-old boy was walking near Anderson Elementary School and a man drove up in a truck and motioned at him to come closer, police said.
