Amigos de Bolsa Chica offers free public tours from 9 to 10:30 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at the pedestrian bridge at the Bolsa Chica wetlands on Pacific Coast Highway across from Bolsa Chica State Beach. (714) 840-1575.

The Huntington Beach Wetlands Conservancy, a group of private citizens dedicated to saving and restoring the wetlands, needs volunteers to help with plant removal and general clean-up of the wetlands in south east Huntington Beach from 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of every month. Group meets in the parking lot of the Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center, 21900 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach; bring tools, water, hat, sunscreen and wear closed-toe shoes. The Bolsa Chica Land Trust offers free public tours of the Bolsa Chica wetlands and mesas at 10 a.m. on the third Sunday of each month. Those interested should meet in the Ecological Reserve parking lot on Pacific Coast Highway across from Bolsa Chica State Beach. In addition, the trust has a table set up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at this location with information on wildlife, wetlands restoration and how to volunteer. (714) 846-1001.

The Bolsa Chica Stewards, the restoration team of the Bolsa Chica Land Trust, needs volunteers to help with its native planting project at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. The stewards plant native plants, remove nonnative vegetation, groom trails and water new plants. They meet from 9 a.m. to noon every third Saturday of the month at the Ecological Reserve parking lot on Warner Avenue near Pacific Coast Highway. (562) 920-4215.

The Friends of Shipley Nature Center invite you to visit the center in Huntington Central Park. It is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Participate in “Restoration as Recreation” from 9 am to noon on the first Saturday of every month. The parking lot is accessible off Golden West between Slater and Talbert.
