Local youth lacrosse camps now underway

The Golden West Lacrosse Camp is now underway at Spring View Middle School in Huntington Beach.

The camp is open to male Orange County student/athletes and will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday through July 25. No instruction will be held on July 4.

Each camper must be a current U.S. Lacrosse member in order to register.

Three separate summer stick skills camps and scrimmages will be held each week for boys ages 11 to 14 (3:30 to 5 p.m.), high school and varsity and junior varsity players (5 to 6:30 p.m.) and 17- to 23-year-olds (6:30 to 8 p.m.).

Spring View Middle School is at 1662 Trudy Lane.

Youth football camp coming to Edison

Edison High will present a youth football camp July 16 to 20 at the school’s varsity practice field.

The camp, held daily from 10 a.m. to noon, is open to boys who will be entering the sixth, seventh or eighth grade in the fall. Campers will be instructed in techniques and skills needed for all offensive and defensive positions and includes both individual and group instruction.

Edison’s offensive and defensive schemes will be introduced during the camp, which features Chargers head coach Dave White and his coaching staff.

The cost is $50 per camper.
