GEORGENE (MELTON) STOTT SMITH

1919 – 2007

Georgene (Melton) Stott Smith, 88 of Corona del Mar, CA, passed away July 3, 2007. She was born June 2, 1919 in Tulsa, OK. Georgene earned her master’s degree in education from University of California Long Beach and was an outstanding kindergarten teacher in the Long Beach School District, emphasizing the fundamentals of behavior, listening and learning. She is survived by her husband Ralph E. Smith, Jr., son Joseph E. Stott; step-daughters, Patricia Savage and Linda Summers, step-son Wayne Johnson. She has 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Georgene was very active in and previously on the boards of Opera Pacific (Honorary Director), Baroque Music Festival, Mozart Classical Orchestra, Noel Daylight White Shrine of Jerusalem, Eastern Star, Thursday Club, Olive Crest, Chinese Cultural Society, Delta Zeta Sorority and a long time member of Community Church Congregational, Corona Del Mar.

Memorial services are scheduled for July 22, at 2:00 P.M. at Community Church Congregational, 611 Heliotrope Avenue, Corona del Mar, CA 92625 (for directions please go to: www.cdmucc.org).
