A former church music director who was arrested in June on suspicion of molesting a former student is set to be arraigned Monday at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.

Albert Lee Schildknecht, 56, of Laguna Niguel was charged with two counts of forcible lewd act upon a child and one count of sexual penetration with a foreign object. He was arrested in Fountain Valley on June 29 by police officers from Costa Mesa.

The accuser in the case is a 28-year-old woman who claims Schildknecht sexually abused her more than a decade ago when she was one of his students. The woman has also filed a lawsuit against the Catholic Diocese of Orange alleging the church covered up the incident.
