State beach needs potential concession operators

Newport Beach will accept proposals until the end of the month from people who want to operate the concessions at Corona del Mar State Beach. The beach hasn’t had a regular concessionaire since 2005, when major renovations of the beach’s public facilities began.

Concessions at Corona del Mar beach have typically included hot dogs and hamburgers, drinks, and other picnic-type food, and Kilmer Enterprises, the operator from 1991 to 2005, also rented beach items.

A meeting for anyone interested in submitting a proposal is set for 11 a.m. Monday, and proposals will be accepted through 4 p.m. Aug. 31. The meeting is at 3300 Newport Blvd., Newport Beach, where proposals also may be submitted.
