BERLIN — Corona del Mar High product John Mann, as well as UC Irvine graduate Dreason Barry, helped the United States men’s senior national water polo team to a fifth-place finish at the FINA World League Super Finals.

Team USA went 3-3 at the tournament, which finished Sunday in Germany.

Mann, who graduated from CdM in 2003, scored two goals in a tournament-ending, 9-6 victory over Romania on Sunday. Mann was also a three-time All-American at UC Berkeley, where he helped the Golden Bears win the 2006 NCAA Division I championship. In June, he won the Peter J. Cutino Award, awarded to the nation’s top collegiate men’s water polo player.

Barry also scored two goals in the super finals. Barry, who was a finalist for the Cutino Award last year, has also served as an assistant coach for Sage Hill School’s water polo program.
