Maple Leafs take down Kings with four-goal period

The Maple Leafs came up with a four-goal second period to take the lead for good in an eventual, 5-3 victory over the Kings in an Adams Division match at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Will Miller opened and closed the scoring for the Maple Leafs and finished with three goals overall.

Luke Benavente and Wayne Ponce also scored and Maverick Knight had 20 saves.

Vito Valenzano scored all three goals for the Kings, Wil McDaniel had an assist and Joseph Loya 20 saves.

In other Adams Division action:

Team Crosby 7, Ducks 5

Slater Miller, Wyatt Benson and Christina Kao each scored three goals as Team Cosby slipped past the Ducks.

Geoffrey Campbell also scored and Lily Humphrey had 17 saves.

Ryan Osborne scored three goals, Logan Berggren and Ryan Bevington both scored once, and Jackson Wozniak had 16 saves for the Ducks.

Conspiracy 2, Maple Leafs 1

Rocky Rosas netted the winning goal with two seconds to play to lift Conspiracy past the Maples Leafs.

Jeremy Morgan scored the first Conspiracy goal and Braden Robertson finished with 10 saves.

Will Miller scored a goal set up by Luke Benavente and Michael Meer for the Maple Leafs and Maverick Knight had 16 saves.

Kings 5, Ducks 1

Vito Valenzano posted three goals and Wil McDaniel and Joshua Mather both scored once to lead the Kings.

Team Crosby 5, Jaguars 3

Goals by Slater Miller and Geoffrey Campbell in the third period broke a tie and sent Team Crosby past the Jaguars.

Campbell finished with three goals overall and Lauren Campbell scored once.

Geoffrey Campbell and Wyatt Benson each had an assist and Lily Humphrey eight saves.

Kameron Christi scored all three Jaguars goals and Kai Yokoyama and Chase Hoglund had assists.

Sabers 7, Ice Dogs 4

The Sabers overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Ice Dogs.

Matthew Bennett and Lucas Main scored twice for the Sabers and Matthew Bozanich, Luke Buntich and Kyle Christi also scored.

Bennett and Christi each had a pair of assists and Main, Bozanich and Jake Richard each had one assist.

Todd Smith recorded 19 saves.

Matthew Moore scored twice and Kandice Ehret and Alex Kowalski both scored once, Travis Hunter had two assists and Drew Sorbom one assist for the Ice Dogs.

Ian Marzolf had 17 saves.

In Wales Division action:

Thrashers 10, Senators 8

The Thrashers led from start to finish in beating the Senators.

Garrett Blackwell led the Thrashers in scoring with three goals.

Jake Rennison scored twice and Phillip Berman, Kyler Scott, Slater Moore, Brooks Hurst and John Barton also scored.

Aron Wong and David Stone led the team in assists with two apiece and single assists went to Blackwell, Rennison and Moore.

Ryan Dixon scored three times and Justin Williams an d Ethan Higbee each scored twice to pace the Senators.

Zac Wit also scored and Williams, Ashley Woody, Caleb Chapman, Eric Grant and Austin Gearty all had an assist.
