Misfits skate past Swat

The Misfits turned the tide on a close match with Swat in the second period and went on to score a 5-3 Norris Division victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Alexander Gomez led the scoring with three goals to pace the Misfits who outscored Swat, 3-1, in the second period.

Nick Callanan and Daniel Chladek also scored goals. Gomez, Chladek, Callanan, Jeremy Williams and Colin Reyes all had an assist.

Ismael Ralsten recorded 22 saves.

Braeden Stack scored two goals to lead Swat, Trenton Shehan scored once and Shehan and Joshua Wagoner each had an assist.

Brandon Wagoner had 12 saves.

In other Norris Division action:

Flyers 9, Breakers 2

The Flyers scored the first six goals of the match and rolled to an easy win.

Matthew Legrand led the Flyers with four goals, Christian Pompoco and Chris Chen each scored twice and Garrett Zolg once. Justin Ferrell had three assists, Zolg and John Keegan two each and Legrand one.

Tyler Gealy finished with 13 saves.

Kyle Hoglund scored both Breakers goals with Josh Valadez, Ethan Michaelis and Patrick Standel each credited with an assist.

Corey Childers had 21 saves.

Extreme 4, Bruins 2

The Extreme outscored the Bruins 2-0 in the final period to pull away to the win.

Peter Skowron scored the go-ahead goal and Amanda Vongries a clinching goal in the third period to break a 2-2 tie.

Vongries finished with two goals and Julia Wong also scored.

Dylan Rodriguez had 12 saves.

Trent Sievers scored both goals for the Bruins and Chris Hernandez had 17 saves.

Lightning 11, Psychos 5

The Lightning spotted the Psychos a 2-0 lead then went on to score 11 goals over the final two periods to get the win.

Casey Rhodes led the scoring with four goals and had an assist, Nicholas Thompson had three goals and two assists and Brett Rudy scored twice and added an assist.

The Psychos scoring was spread among Maverick Knight, Preston Alvarez, Alexander Taros, Cole Kennedy and Jordan Bonner. Alvarez also had an assist and Aaron Maccabi finished with 24 saves.
