On August 13, 2007, Gladys Buelah Parker passed away. Born December 14, 1909, in Anson, Texas. Gladys married William Ray Parker from Bonham, Texas on October 7, 1928. Born on May 5, 1929 their son Earl Eugene Parker. Moved from Texas in the 1940’s and settled in Huntington Beach where they later built their home. There Gladys resided a year after her husband’s death in 1992.

In 1993, Gladys moved to her Granddaughter’s homestead in Rice, WA. In 1998, moved to her son’s home in Rogue River, OR, until her death.

Gladys was an excellent seamstress/tailor, quited over 90 hand-pieced quilts, crocheted and embroidered. During WWII she was an airplane wing riveter. Gladys made her cooking specialty a career at Hoag Memorial Hospital until she retired. With pride and skill she cooked or made salads for the banquet fundraisers into pieces of edible art. She was often personall requested by her favorite customer John Wayne to prepare a special meal.

Gladys is survived by her Daughter-in Law, JoAnn Parker, Grandchildren, Shelia, Craig, & Ryan Parker, Grandson and Daughter-in Law, Richard and Donnette Fischer and Great Grandson-in Law, Lee Christie, Great-Great Grandchildren, Leland Hatcher, Brian and Kristen Taul, Justin Christie, Raven and Anthony Parker.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Gladys was dearly loved by her family and many friends. She will be missed.

An open memorial service will be held on August 21, at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, CA at 2:15.
