Hurley presents mixed media art exhibit

Surf and skate company Hurley presents “The Shrinkers,” a mixed media art exhibit, at its Costa Mesa headquarters from 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday.

As part of Hurley’s “Show of Hands” artist series, which helps emerging local artists create, showcase and sell their art, the event kicks off the Show of Hands Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school student pursuing art professionally or academically.

Featuring 20 artists of all ages, the exhibition also includes live performances from the Deadnotes and the Growlers, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches will be served.

A $5 donation is suggested with all proceeds from art sales going to the scholarship fund and all other proceeds benefiting Invisible Children.
