BREAKING NEWS: Flipped vehicle catches fire, jams traffic

A man flipped his vehicle at around 4 p.m. Tuesday on S. Coast Highway near Aliso Creek State Beach, resulting in a car fire and massive traffic jam.

A witness said the solo driver apparently sideswiped a parked car while heading southbound near Camel Point Drive. His vehicle flipped into the air and landed upside-down on its roof. It caught on fire and quickly became engulfed in flames.

The man was pulled out of the vehicle by onlookers immediately following the crash and was in apparently good condition, the witness said.
