Two officials appointed by Newport Visitors Bureau

The Newport Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau has appointed two top officials, with Kathleen Peterson stepping in as partnership marketing manager and Timothy Aylsworth as vice president of sales.

Peterson, a certified meeting and event planner, has worked as account manager for the San Diego Union-Tribune, as a saleswoman at Sunglass Hut International and in advertising for the New Times in San Luis Obispo.

“Kathleen Peterson possesses a solid background in sales that will aid her tremendously in her new role, ensuring positive synergy among our partners and the bureau,” Gary Sherwin, the president of the bureau, wrote in a release. “Katie’s sales experience and education will help to maximize all marketing opportunities while increasing bureau membership for the benefit of all partners.”

Aylsworth, a veteran of the hotel industry, has worked in sales and marketing for the Hyatt, Holiday Inn and other chains across the country.

“I look forward to taking the sales efforts of the Newport Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau to an entirely new level,” he wrote in a release.
