Rollin’ Rebels cruise

The Rollin’ Rebels took a five-goal lead through two periods of play during their Campbell Division match against the Stars and maintained that advantage in the final period en route to a 9-5 victory at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Trenton Buyan and Joseph Loya each scored two goals to top all Rollin’ Rebels scorers. Jordon Corwin scored twice and Sean Desmond once.

Loya, Corwin and Carson Dorian each had two assists and Desmond one assist.

Caden Thompson finished with 17 saves.

Nathan Finch scored two goals for the Stars and Aaron Pumphrey had 19 saves.

The win was the second of the night for the Rollin’ Rebels.

Rollin’ Rebels 5, Vipers 3

Two goals by Joseph Loya in the final 3:52 ended a tie and sent the Rollin’ Rebels past the Vipers.

The Vipers tied the score (3-3) on Julia Wong’s goal, her third of the game.

Jordon Corwin also scored twice for the Rollin’ Rebels. Loya added a pair of assists and Corwin, Trenton Buyan and Joey Lambur had one each.

Caden Thompson recorded 19 saves.

Rangers 4, Sharks 3

Andrew Decarlo set up Cole Geller’s game-winning score with 53 seconds remaining as the Rangers eluded the Sharks.

Geller finished the match with two goals and Decarlo and Charley Lowe each scored once. Decarlo and Kyle Barrett each had two assists and Lowe had one assist.

Cody Bos-teruya had 20 saves.

Scott Jervik scored twice, Hunter Tait once and Jeremy Lee had an assist for the Sharks.

Dillon Makoff had 23 saves.

Mad Dogs 3, Hot Wheels 2

Matthew Gomez scored off a feed from John Henry Huffman with 6:42 to play to break a tie and give the Mad Dogs the win.

Gomez finished with two goals and an assist, Slater Miller scored once and Haley Miller had an assist.

Jake Gealy recorded 24 saves.

Emma Ziegler and Jackson Wozniak each had a goal and Zeke Ziegler had an assist for the Hot Wheels.

Hot Shots 4, Puckhogs 3

The Puckhogs rallied for two goals in the final period but their comeback fell short against the Hot Shots.

Jeremy Dorff scored a match-best three goals for the Hot Shots. Perry Lightfoot scored once and Jake Coon, Kyle Hinojosa and Robert Muller each had an assist.

Trenton Shehan had 14 saves.

Garrett Felix scored twice to pace the Puckhogs on offense. Tyler Donelson scored once, Marlin Liberatore had an assist and Weston Bechtold had 13 saves.
