Representatives of LifeClimb, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit, are set to begin a cross-country bike expedition at the Newport Pier Monday morning.

The organization guides teenagers in decision-making and confidence-building through adventures and expedition, and founder Carl Drew is setting off with seven other riders to spread the group’s message to schools and community centers nationwide.

The riders will gather at 7 a.m. at the base of the pier and Drew will offer an inspirational speech before the group heads off for the 3,500-mile ride to Boston. They plan to stop in 25 cities and reach out to more than 20,000 teens along the way.
