The Huntington Beach Black Oilers recovered the opening kickoff in their Jr. All-American Football Clinic Division season opener against Whittier and never looked back.

The Oilers parlayed that turnover into a touchdown two plays later, and the quick start propelled them to a 38-0 trouncing of the Trojans on Saturday.

On Huntington’s second play from scrimmage following the opening kickoff recovery, running back Brennan Apodoca scored the first of his three rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Brae Ivey and Bowen Blake also rushed for touchdowns and Nathan Mathews caught a touchdown pass.
