Two employees of Orange County’s Resources and Development Management Department whose names are on an allegedly falsified document have been placed on administrative leave while officials investigate. The document also was signed by county Treasurer Chriss Street.

County officials have been investigating Street for several issues, including his alleged involvement in trying to hire an architectural firm without following county procedures. The document being investigated says three county architectural project managers chose the firm Ware Malcomb for a building project after evaluating three firms. The document’s author, Clark Shen, and one employee who signed it, Antonio Pascual, are on leave, Orange County Employees Assn. General Manager Nick Berardino confirmed Friday.

County officials have questioned the authenticity of the document, and Street has said he merely signed it. Supervisors opted Tuesday not to strip Street of his control over the county investment pool, with several saying they didn’t see firm evidence of wrongdoing.
