Brush up on area history with pioneer event

Celebrate Costa Mesa’s pioneer families from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at an event sponsored by the Costa Mesa Historical Society at Estancia Park. Tours of the Estancia adobe will be offered, Patty Boardman will talk at 1 p.m. about early city residents buried in area cemeteries, pioneer crafts such as wool spinning and leather work will be demonstrated, and kids can make an adobe brick.
