IRVINE — The No. 21-ranked Anteaters got goals from Gray Bailey and Spencer Thompson in the nonconference match Sunday to improve to 5-0.

UCI got the game-winner in the 94th minute, when Bailey’s throw-in inside the box was headed into the Spartans’ net by a San Jose State defender.

San Jose State fell to 3-2.

Goalkeeper Pat Barton made four saves for the Anteaters.

IRVINE — Freshman goalkeeper Danielle de Seriere made seven saves and recorded her fourth shutout of the season for the Anteaters during a double overtime nonconference match Sunday.

The freshman helped UCI (4-1-1) pick up its fifth straight shutout, tying the school record for consecutive shutouts set in 1990.

Eastern Michigan fell to 2-2-1.
