Rapper Snoop Dogg’s hearing rescheduled
A preliminary hearing on a felony weapons charge for rapper Snoop Dogg was rescheduled for the second time Tuesday in Orange County Superior Court.
The defendant, born Calvin Broadus, was not present Tuesday morning in Orange County Superior Justice Center in Santa Ana.
The court granted a continuance of the hearing for Thursday to Broadus’ attorney Allan Stokke.
The hearing originally was scheduled for July.
Broadus also did not appear for his arraignment hearing in January on the charge of possession of a deadly weapon.
John Wayne Airport security screeners found a 20-inch baton in the rapper’s luggage as he was walking through a security checkpoint in September 2006.
The rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges and maintains the baton was to be used for filming a video.
If convicted, Broadus could face up to three years in state prison.
