Council to discuss Oasis Senior Center plans
The public can get an early look at what’s planned for the new Oasis Senior Center Tuesday, when the Newport Beach City Council reviews the suggested concept for the center. The rebuilt center is slated to include fitness facilities, classrooms, an art center and other amenities.
The council also will discuss whether to include a library component in the senior center, an idea that was initially intended to replace the nearby Corona del Mar branch library. Residents at recent public meetings said they want to keep their library, so the council may not want to incorporate it into the senior center.
The Newport Beach City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 3300 Newport Blvd. To view the agenda, visit www.city.newport-beach.ca.us or call (949) 644-3005.
