HUNTINGTON BEACH — Junior Lindsey Slaney shot 16-over-par 52 to earn medalist honors and key the Mustangs’ Golden West League win Tuesday at Meadowlark Golf Club.

Kelly Harada (53), Shelby Ferris (58), Melissa Dean (69) and Cayley Camarillo (65) also scored for Costa Mesa, which improved to 3-4, 3-4 in league.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO – Kelsey Venditozzi shot a 12-over par 35 to lead the Lightning in its Academy League match Tuesday at Marbella Country Club.

Her sister, Kimberly Venditozzi shot a 51 for Sage Hill (1-5, 1-2 in league). Amy Babbush shot a 52, Sara White recorded a 61, Sara Anderson shot a 64 and Christy Li carded a 67.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Tiffany Kim’s six-over par round of 42 led the Sailors in their Sunset League defeat Tuesday at Meadowlark Golf Club.

Also scoring for the Sailors (7-3, 3-2 in league) were Morgan Moody and Kendall Horn (both 43), Ali Thomas (45) and Lauren Draganza (47).

IRVINE — Conley Kipp had 15 kills as the Sea Kings topped Beckman, 25-16, 25-21, 25-22, in their Pacific Coast League opener Tuesday at Beckman High.

Claire Ham had seven kills for CdM (8-6, 1-0 in league). Madie Smith had 40 assists, Ashley Pries added 20 digs and Kipp added five solo blocks.

Esperanza

ANAHEIM — Jamie Heenan and Alex Penewell had 10 kills apiece for the Sailors in their 25-16, 18-25, 25-20, 25-14 Sunset League-opening win Tuesday at Esperanza High.

Penewell had six blocks for Newport Harbor (8-1, 1-0), while Jennifer Palmquist and Mary Buckingham each had nine kills and Alesha Young tallied 47 assists. Coach Dan Glenn said Katie Regan did a nice job filling in for fellow senior Megan Munce (appendectomy), who is expected to be out another week or so.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Senior co-captain Samantha Hill scored twice and added an assist to pace the Sailors in the Sunset League road game Tuesday.

Katy Storch, another senior co-captain, had a goal and an assist for the Tars (11-3-2, 2-0 in league).

Sophomore Claire Ramser had a goal, senior Claire Josephson contributed an assist and junior goalie Jessie Bass had one save to record the shutout.

CORONA DEL MAR — The Sea Kings, ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division I, swept in doubles in their Pacific Coast League match Tuesday at CdM.

The pairings of Lindsay Zotovich and Danielle Kaiden, Karen Ishii and Paige Polizois, as well as Kelli Feeley and Elizabeth Nguyen all won three sets for CdM (8-1, 2-0 in league).

CYPRESS — Lightning juniors Jaclyn Smrecek and Laney Tucker swept their singles sets for Sage in an Academy League road match Tuesday.

The doubles teams of Danielle Goodman and Niki Cochran, as well as Nandi Shah and Kelly Chang, also won three sets for the Lightning (6-3, 2-0 in league), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division IV.

NEWPORT BEACH — The visiting Aztecs swept nine singles sets in the Sunset League match Tuesday at Newport Harbor High.

For the Sailors (8-2, 1-1 in league), the doubles teams of Kristen Kahn and Brittany Sowers, Allie Shea and Lexy Longman, and Natalie Small and Ariana Cernius all won twice.
