SANTA ANA — Though no one swept their opponent, Corona del Mar still won the Pacific Coast League match Wednesday.

Danielle Kaiden lost her first match, then won, 6-0, 6-0.

CdM (11-2, 4-0 in league) will host the All-American tournament which starts Friday at 11:00 a.m. and will feature 16 schools.

Singles – Polizois (CdM) lost to Ghassemi, 4-6, def. Chomeau 6-0, lost to Mancina 4-6; Kaiden (CdM) lost 3-6, won 6-0, 6-0; Feeley (CdM) lost 4-6, 6-0, (sub) Dialynas lost 6-2.

Doubles – Ishii-Zotovich (CdM) def. Kawabe-Kruger, 6-1; Ishii-O’Neal (CdM) def. Forpino-Pedrozo, 6-1, def. Daley-Robert, 6-3; Nguyen-Nazemi (CdM) lost 6-7, won 6-2, 6-1; Stimac-Aveheim (CdM) lost 3-6; Aveheim-Parsons (CdM) lost 2-6; Stimac-Beyer (CdM) won 6-2.

Laguna Beach 13, Sage Hill 5

LAGUNA BEACH — Junior Sarah Choi won twice at No. 2 singles for the Lightning, who were playing without their top two players in a nonleague match Wednesday.

Junior Jaclyn Smrecek was ill and sophomore Julia Blakeley was nursing a sore ankle, Sage Hill Coach A.G. Longoria said. He hopes to have both back today when the Lightning (6-4) play at Whitney.

CORONA DEL MAR — Sophomore goalie Isle Anderson made 12 saves as the Sea Kings won the Pacific Coast League game Wednesday at CdM.

Max Bergeson scored a game-high five goals for the Sea Kings (12-4, 2-0 in league), the No. 6-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

NEWPORT BEACH — Colin McKibbin scored five goals, and Brandon Parole and Andy Hayes added three each for the Sailors in their Sunset League win Wednesday at Newport Harbor High.

Austin Fleming and Zach Lucas each scored twice for the Tars (15-2, 2-0 in league), who were up 13-0 after three quarters.

Newport Harbor, the top-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, plays host to Laguna Beach on Saturday at 12:45 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Kelly Hirada shot six-over-par 41 to earn medalist honors for the Mustangs in their Golden West League match at Costa Mesa Country Club’s Mesa Linda course Wednesday.

Chrissy Camarillo (53), Lindsey Slaney (54), Shelby Farris (55) and Melissa Dean (57) also contributed to the win. Costa Mesa (3-4, 3-4 in league) plays against Estancia today at Costa Mesa Country Club.

Sage Hill 254

IRVINE — Amy Babbush led the Lightning with a 10-over par 46 in their Academy League match Wednesday at Strawberry Farms Golf Club.

Kelsey Venditozzi shot a 50 for Sage Hill (2-6, 2-4 in league), and Christy Li carded a 52 for her best round of the year. Sara White (53) and captain Kimberly Venditozzi (53) also scored for the Lightning.
