LAKE FOREST — One hundred and sixty of the top AAU basketball players in Southern California will play in the 10th annual Roundball Extravaganza today at El Toro High.
It’s a chance to preview some of the top players in Southern California in an eight-game event, consisting of four boys games and four girls games.
The day will start with the freshman girls’ game at 9 a.m. and end with the senior boys’ game at 7:30 p.m.
Local players that will be playing in the event are freshman Clayton Ragsdale, junior Steven Gallian and senior Adam Brakeville from Corona del Mar High. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students and children.
RIVERSIDE — Corona del Mar High sophomore Ryan Peyton, a member of the Sea Kings’ boys’ tennis team, won the boys’ 16 singles division at the Lynn Scott Memorial Open on Sept. 30.
Peyton, the No. 3 seed, captured his first open win without losing a set, besting a field of 35 players. In the final, Peyton defeated Jharen Gines, 6-1, 6-1.
