Costa Mesa to screen plans for development

Costa Mesa officials will get an early look Tuesday at plans for “Industry 18,” a 34-unit live/work development slated for the 1000 block of West 18th Street. The City Council will screen the preliminary plans, which call for rooftop decks with ocean views and industrial design, and give the developer comments to help refine the plans for final approval.

The 34 units on a 1.6-acre parcel may give council members concerns about density, but they’ll likely be excited to see another new project come forward for the westside, where they’ve been hoping to see redevelopment for the last year and a half. The Costa Mesa City Council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 77 Fair Drive.
