KDOC-TV and the Orange County Register formed a partnership to create Daybreak OC, Orange County’s first weekday morning newscast. The Monday-Friday 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. news cast delivers timely local news and traffic reports.

 Harbor Mesa Lions Wild West Casino Night

Harbor Mesa Lions will hold their 11th annual Casino Night Oct. 26, 7 p.m. at the Neighborhood Community Center in Costa Mesa. Featured at this event will be a DJ with country music and dancing, gaming tables that include blackjack, roulette and craps, and a silent auction. The tickets are $35 each, which includes a chuck-wagon dinner of ribs and chicken, $100 play money and one drink. Winners at the tables receive raffle tickets to win theme baskets prepared by Harbor Mesa members. Ticket deadline is Oct. 19. The public is encouraged to participate.  Southern California Interfaith Week

Religion congregations in Southern California are encouraged to say a prayer for Interfaith Understanding this week, said Rev. Dennis Short, president of the Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council and pastor at Harbor Christian Church.

Interfaith Councils want members to promote respect for other faiths between now and Oct. 21.

 Building Bridges of Understanding

As part of the Southern California Interfaith Week, a panel discussion on “Building Bridges of Understanding” will highlight the Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council Luncheon at noon Oct. 17 at Irvine United Congregation Church, according to Greg Kelley, Council Vice Chairman. A minister, Imam and Rabbi will discuss how their faith community builds understanding between faith communities. Lunch is $10 per person with a reservation, $12 without reservation.
