Rice professor to speak at St. Barnabas church

St. Barnabas Orthodox Church will present a three-part series, “The Family in the Culture Wars,” by H.Tristram Engelhardt, a philosophy professor at Houston’s Rice University Nov. 9 and 10.

The Friday evening session, “The Traditional Christian Family as Politically Incorrect” is scheduled for 7 p.m. at 3505 Cadillac Ave., Suite G-3, Costa Mesa.

Saturday’s session will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will deal with “Sexuality, Reproduction and the Family in a Post-Christian Age” and “The Family and the Struggle for Salvation.”

A lunch break is scheduled for noon.

A suggested donation for the two-day event is $20 for adults and $10 for students.
