Barnes & Noble bookstores nationwide are getting ready for the company’s annual Holiday Book Drive.

Beginning Nov. 1, customers of the Barnes & Noble store at Metro Pointe, 901 B South Coast Drive, Costa Mesa, are being asked to purchase books that the company will collect and donate to Crittenton Services for Families and Children, a local organization providing treatment services for children and families dealing with abuse and neglect.

Barnes & Noble will host in-store activities during the book drive, which will end Jan. 1.

Community leaders, children’s authors, educators and elected officials are scheduled to participate in storytime events.
