Bloomingdale’s shopping event to benefit charities

Bloomingdale’s at Fashion Island in Newport Beach and South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa are hosting shopping events from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday to benefit area charities.

Shoppers can purchase either $5 advanced tickets or $10 tickets at the store. Tickets allow customers a 15% discount off nearly any purchase.

The benefiting charities are Assessment and Treatment Services Center, Assistance League of Newport-Mesa, Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at UC Irvine Medical Center, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Laura’s House, Olive Crest and Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.

Special events and sweepstakes are also part of the joint event, and each store will feature special guests and offers, including a culinary demonstration from chef Bill Bracken, who will appear at the Newport Beach location.
