Farm education program to receive grant at ceremony
The Orange County Fair and Exposition Center’s Centennial Farm will receive a $3,000 grant in support of the Ranch After School program, which teaches farming education in Costa Mesa, at a ceremony 3 p.m. Monday.
The program is intended to further education at local schools about animal husbandry, equine science, gardening and nutrition, and leather crafting, according to a news release. The grant is provided by the Costa Mesa Community Foundation.
The foundation and the Centennial Farm hopes the grant will help expand the program to include schools and groups such as the Girl and Boy Scouts of America.
The grant program was created in June in an effort to provide funds for educational services in the local community.
