Harbor surf team comes up with huge victory

NEWPORT BEACH — The Newport Harbor High surf team beat nemesis San Clemente for the first time in league competition with Robert Guy and Victor Done placing first in their two heats.

Chase Wilson and Eric Heimstaedt took first and second places, respectively with Wilson posting an average score of 7.8 which was high for the day.

Kaleigh Gilchrist and Camille Collett took first and second in the girls’ short board competition and Hailey Sandberg placed first for the long board squad.

Casey Bushong also placed first for the Sailors, helping them improve to 3-0 on the year.
