UCI to award business author for social advocacy

David Bornstein, the author of “How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas,” has been named to receive the 2007 Human Security Award from UC Irvine’s Center for Unconventional Security Affairs.

Bornstein’s book profiles a number of entrepreneurs worldwide who have used their business savvy to foster positive social change. He is scheduled to receive the award and speak about his book at 4 p.m. today at the campus’ Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center of the National Academies of Science and Engineering.

Tickets are $25 for the general public, $20 for seniors and UCI faculty and staff, and $8 for students. Call (949) 824-8804 for information.
