Pinchers, Pomeranians and poodles were transformed into princesses and at the Howl’oween Dog Show Sunday afternoon at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.

About 10 sixth-graders from Christ Lutheran School attended the event from 3 to 5 p.m., some getting ridiculously creative with their pet’s attire.

Among the costume-clad canines was a 130-pound English Labrador named Boscoe who came dressed as Dog the Bounty Hunter from the popular reality television show. Another dog, Dixie, gained oohs and ahs as a tiny princess, but had trouble keeping her hat on top of her head. Gibson the golden retriever came ready to save lives in the water as a lifeguard. And Lacy, the ladybug dog, spent most of her time cuddling with her owner, Peyton Carter, at the end of the show.
