Reverend to recognize worldwide persecution

St. James Anglican Church will observe International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church on Sunday with a lecture on persecuted Christians around the world.

The Rev. Paul Estabrooks will share stories from his work as a minister with Open Doors International, a nonprofit, nondenominational ministry that works with persecuted Christians in countries such as China and Vietnam. Through his work with Open Doors, Estabrooks has visited Christians in places such as Cuba, Tibet, Mongolia and the Middle East.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 3209 Via Lido. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
