Hutten scores eight goals, earns share of accolade

UC Irvine senior Tim Hutten has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation/Mikasa Co-Player of the Week in men’s water polo.

He scored a total of eight goals as the Anteaters split a pair of MPSF road games this past weekend. Hutten scored three goals in an 11-10 overtime loss at Cal Friday night, notching the goal that tied the game at 9-9 in the fourth quarter. He tallied a game-high five goals in Saturday’s 13-7 win against Pacific.

Hutten, who has scored 47 goals, leads the MPSF with an average of 3.62 goals per game.

He shared this week’s award with Cal’s Spencer Warden.

Coach Marc Hunt’s Anteaters host UC San Diego Wednesday night at 7, Pepperdine Friday at 7 p.m. and Stanford Saturday at noon.
